a. A minor penalty shall be imposed on a
player who impedes or seeks to impede the
progress of an opponent by hooking with
his stick.
b. A major penalty shall be be imposed on
any player who injures an opponent by
hooking. When a major penalty is imposed
under this rule for a foul resulting in injury to
the face or head of an opponent, an automatic fine of one hundred dollars
($100) shall also be imposed.
(NOTE)
When a player is checking another in such a way that there is only
stick-to-stick contact, such action is neither hooking or holding.
